Il nucleo originale della villa venne eretto, verso la fine del ‘700, sulle rovine di un antico monastero degli Umiliati per volontà della famiglia Odescalchi.
Nel 1787 passò al conte Andrea Passalacqua che ne fece una sontuosa dimora dal regale arredamento e dall’ampio giardino degradante verso il lago su progetto dell’architetto Felice Soave.
Alla morte di Andrea, la villa fu scelta come residenza da Giambattista Lucini Passalacqua che, dopo un’agiata vita da nobile signore, si ritirò a Moltrasio dove raccolse i ricordi dei suoi viaggi e una ricchissima biblioteca dove si intratteneva con artisti, letterati e musicisti.
Dopo un lungo abbandono, la villa è stata ristrutturata negli Anni Settanta da Oscar Kiss Maerth ed oggi è un centro residenziale, sede di molteplici eventi tra cui il Festival Belliniano.
The original nucleus of the villa was built towards the end of the ‘700, on the ruins of an ancient monastery of the Humiliated by the Odescalchi family.
In 1787 it passed to Count Andrea Passalacqua who made it a luxurious residence by the regal furnishings and from the large garden sloping to the lake, with a project of the architect Felice Soave.
On the death of Andrea, the villa was chosen as a residence by Giambattista Lucini Passalacqua that after a wealthy life by noble ladies, retired to Moltrasio where he collected the memories of his travels and a rich library where you had with artists, writers and musicians .
After a long period of neglect, the villa has been renovated in the seventies by Oscar Kiss Maerth and today is a residential center, home to many events including the Festival Belliniano.
