Villa Allamel fu di proprietà per decenni del conte Mario Allamel, milanese molto ospitale con i cittadini cernobbiesi con i quali ha organizzato in modo frequente incontri letterari e musicali nel bellissimo giardino con gazebo.
Erede di famiglie di industriali, i Clerici e gli Allamel, Mario aveva conservato nella villa memorie esclusive dell’evoluzione del mondo della tessitura, della tintoria e del turismo nel comasco, documenti che non è dato sapere in quali luoghi sono stati destinati.
Appassionato d’arte e di storia, aveva collaborato con il sindaco Giulio Isolanelle nelle ricerche di attribuzione dello stile liberty floreale di villa Bernasconi (un tempo di proprietà comunale, impropriamente chiamata Sommaruga) ad Alfredo Campanini, tanto da indurre il primo cittadino a intitolare l’antistante piazzetta all’architetto milanese.
Il conte scomparve alla fine del dicembre 2004, fu per tutta la vita un amante della sua Villa, considerata una delle perle del Lago.
