La principessa Carlotta di Prussia ebbe la villa in dono dalla madre, la Principessa Marianna di Nassau, in occasione delle nozze della figlia celebrate il 13 maggio 1850 con George di Sachsen-Meiningen. La coppia però non frequentò a lungo la proprietà di Tremezzo per via dei molti impegni imposti dal loro neo-ruolo assunto di principi ereditari. Tuttavia nella villa la camera dalle pareti rosa è stata tradizionalmente definita “la camera di Carlotta“. Questa camera, di impronta femminile, contiene mobili del tardo settecento, un letto in ferro battuto con il monogramma coronato di Carlotta nella testiera e un tavolo da toilette sul quale sono poste delicate ceramiche di Limonges. Spiccano alle pareti i ritratti della giovane principessa, tra cui il Ritratto di Carlotta una incisione da un acquarello di Samuel Diez del 1851. Pochi sono appunto i ritratti della bella Carlotta poiché morì giovanissima nel 1855, a soli 23 anni.
Princess Carlotta of Prussia recived the villa as a gift from her mother, the Princess Marianna of Nassau, for celebrated the wedding of her daughter’s with George of Sachsen-Meiningen on 13 May 1850 . The couple didn’t attend the property of Tremezzo for long due to the many commitments imposed by their newly-hired role of hereditary principles. However in the villa the room with the pink walls has traditionally been called “Carlotta’s room“. This room, of feminine imprint, contains furniture of the late eighteenth century, a wrought iron bed with Carlotta’s crowned monogram in the headboard and a dressing table on which delicate Limonges ceramics are placed. The portraits of the young princess stand out on the walls, including the Portrait of Carlotta, an engraving from a watercolor by Samuel Diez of 1851. Few are precisely the portraits of the beautiful Carlotta since she died very young in 1855, only 23 years old.
